GPS and Ritchie-Working Together
One way to achieve optimal performance and safety with your Ritchie compass is by using your electronic and magnetic navigation data together. By doing this, you get the best of both worlds. Your GPS informs you of your boat’s position and calculates the speed and direction in which your boat has been travelling. Wind, current and boat speed can all create a discrepancy between what your GPS says and what’s really happening.
And that’s where a Ritchie compass in.

    Originally used on Navy and Merchant ships the 7 ½” Navy Standard compasses continues to have the highest grade materials and workmanship.  The bezels are machined to accept the AC-001 Azimuth Circle.  With four configurations the Navy Standard compasses fit most binnacles and steering stations.

    Bezel engraving is available in thirty-four standard fonts or you can have a personalized engraving added. This customization takes 3 weeks.

    Each compass is marked with a sequential coined serial number which is recorded at the factory.

    The SY-500 models have either LL (low level lighting) or PL (power lighting). Voltages available are 12, 24 and 32.
